Climbing in Corsica
Multipitch route training course
Altipiani proposes a climbing course in multipitch routes, in Corsica. The island offers majestic landscapes between sea and mountain, between surfaces varying from the large slabs of Restonica, through the Tavignanu gorges and to the famous Bavella peaks. We take advantage of the many itineraries to choose climbing routes to suit our desires and our level. This training course will allow everyone to learn and perfect to ascents of several lengths while enjoying the pleasures of climbing multipitch routes led by a professional living in Corsica.
Program
Day 1 : settling in Corte
See you at the end of the afternoon in Altipiani's office in the center of Corte. Once acquainted, we review everyone's equipment and we lend you what you lack.
Preparation of bags for the next day. Dinner in a cozy restaurant.
Day 2 : wall climbing in Caporalino
Climbing on a limestone cliff in various routes at different levels. This day is devoted to the learning and upgrading of multipitch route rope maneuvers (mounting a relay in the wall, the lead climber belaying, rappelling self-insured). Another night in Corte.
Day 3 : Tavignanu or Restonica valley
We achieve our first multipitch route in the Tavignanu or Restonica valley, two valleys whish start from Corte and have many routes in a highly carved granite with tafoni or balls or, on the contrary, in a very compact slab. Last night at Corte.
Day 4 to 7 : Bavella peaks
Travel to the massif of Bavella where we climb traditional or modern routes. We perform routes through the Bavella peaks, in the large slabs of the Teghie-lisce, the tafoni in the Ferriates range, the hole of di Tafunata di Paliri.
End of stay; option to book an extra night
Corsica, Mediterranean island, has a pleasant climate and it's possible to climb outdoors all year round. Sometimes, however, that mountain weather changes quickly. If this happens, we modify the program to a multipitch route near the coast: Monte Gozzi above Ajaccio or cirque of Bonifatu near Calvi.
Level
Good mastery of climbing techniques with a 5b level in head.
Prices
- € 789 per person in stage lodging or camping.(tent and mattresses loan)
- € 889 per person in hotel
- Possibility of making the training externally : € 540 per pers.
- Minimum number of participants : 3 (maximum 4).
Prices include
- Transport on different cliffs, from day 2 to day 7.
- Supervision by a qualified climbing instructor.
- The provision of equipment individually and collectively.
- Half board from day 1 evening to day 7 morning.
Prices don't include
- The wine at dinner, drinks and personal expenses.
- Your travel from your home to Corte and back.

Loan of equipment
Altipiani lend you the individual equipment: harness, shoes, helmet and belay system. We advise you to have your own shoes for comfort.
Meeting
To get to Corte, take the train from the main cities of Corsica : Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Ile-Rousse.

Recommended equipment
For the activities
- Climbing short and t-shirt, sunglasses, cap, swimsuit.
- Linen climbing pants, fleece sweatshirt , windproof jacket.
- Light shoes or tennis shoes for mountain walks of approach.
- Backpack (20 to 30 litres).
- Personal climbing equipment if available.
- Picnic Gear: gourd or bottle, cutlery, hermetic box Tupperware style.
For the stay
- Personal belongings: a change of clothes, t-shirt, socks, towels, toiletries.
- For evenings : fleece sweatshirt , trousers, light shoes, jacket, mountain headlamp.
- Personal pharmacy: plan your own treatment, ear plug for nights in lodging, headache, body aches, etc..
- A sackcloth and a sleeping bag for camping or stage lodging.
